It's pretty strange in Europe too. You can't bring any liquids over 125ml into the plane. That includes toothpaste tubes, yoghurt, bottles of water, etc. My deodorant got confiscated!
But I felt very much at ease about someone hitting me in the face with a pie during the flight.

I think you'd be arrested in the U.S. for taking so many pix in airplanes, etc. Our "HOMELAND SECURITY" folks have gone a touch mad.
